Delving into the when in the lifecycle it is imperative vs just good to have; what parts of the business processes should be covered; whether domestic vs international protections are useful. Jason will also go through the different ways startups with limited funds are able to use and prioritize Intellectual Property.

Jason Wachter is a partner with Gottlieb, Rackman & Reisman. He focuses his practice on patent prosecution and the preparation of opinions relating to patentability, infringement and freedom to operate. Mr. Wachter has experience in a broad range of technologies including, but not limited to, medical devices, automotive components, wireless devices, telecommunications, mobile applications and consumer and luxury goods. Mr. Wachter has counseled a broad range of clients from Fortune 500 companies to startups and sole inventors.

Rich currently serves as an Interim CFO for multiple Venture Backed Startups and Micro Venture Capital Firms. Before his time at Early Growth, he served as both Director and Controller of Fund Accounting for ff Venture Capital, a prominent seed- and early stage venture capital firm investing in such industries as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, drones, enterprise cloud software, and crowdfunding. Prior to that, he served as an Analyst at Vicis Capital, LLC, a multi-strategy hedge fund who had $6 Billion in Assets Under Management at its height. Rich holds an MBA from Fordham University and a BS in Finance from St. John’s University.
